Police are searching for a 33-year-old El Jebel man suspected of fatally shooting a man and woman at their home in El Jebel Saturday night.
William Anderson Amaya, 33, is described by the Eagle County Sheriff’s Office as an Hispanic man, 5 foot, 5 inches tall, 180 pounds with brown hair and eyes. He may be driving a grey 2009 Honda Civic sedan with tinted windows and Colorado license plate 070-SFL.
Considered armed and dangerous, Amaya is believed to have been renting a room at the home at 160 Arapahoe in El Jebel where an unidentified man and woman were found shot to death at 11:17 p.m. Saturday.
A sheriff’s deputy reportedly arrived within minutes of the shooting but Amaya had already fled the scene.
Detectives early Sunday morning were interviewing witnesses and trying to obtain a search warrant for the home in unincorporated Eagle County.
Eagle County Coroner Kara Bettis is determining cause of death and identifying the two victims.
