New this winter at the Limelight
The Limelight Lodge in the heart of downtown Aspen is preparing for its best winter yet for locals and tourists alike, with the addition of exclusive beer-pairing dinners, family movie nights and the return of live music five nights a week.
“We are constantly adding new ways to give locals and our guests the best experience possible in Aspen,” said General Manager Richard Stettner. “We want everyone to have a warm and inviting place to come after a great day on the slopes.”
The property is hosting free live music from 4-7 p.m. Thursday through Monday starting Dec. 10 in the Limelight Lounge. The Lounge offers light Italian fare and an array of specialty cocktails, like the Meltdown with hot chocolate, Bailey’s, Cinnamon Schnapps and whipped cream. There are also happy hour specials with $10 pizzas and $3 draft beer.
Bands include the Derek Brown Band (blues/pop/funk); Defiance Stringband (acoustic Americana); Damien Smith Band (rock); Aspen Biker Band (classic rock, blues and R&B); Thomas Haupt Duo (instrumental Brazilian and Afro-Cuban jazz); and Michael Jude and John Michel of the John Oates Band (folk rock).
On Wednesday nights at 7 p.m. starting Dec. 21, guests and locals can enjoy a complimentary Family Movie Night in the hotel’s Monarch Room, complete with comfy bean bag chairs, popcorn and a family-friendly flick. Parents may choose to enjoy a drink or meal in the Limelight Lounge during the movie; however, the film is not supervised by Limelight staff and is not a childcare service.
Also new this year starting Dec. 6, the Limelight is offering exclusive beer dinners twice a month on Tuesdays. Guests can partake in a three-course meal and specialty beer pairings for $40, including tax and gratuity. The dinners include beers from New Belgium, the Aspen Brewing Company and Craft Beers by Anheuser Busch, as well as dishes like braised beef short ribs with pommes frites; coriander and orange dusted sea scallops; and sticky toffee pudding. Reservations must be made in advance for these special dinners at 970-925-3025, as there is limited seating.
