MarchFourth Marching Band will play a street concert in downtown Aspen on Friday, March 29. M4, as their devotees call them, throws itself and the audience into a swirling volcano of high-energy music and spectacle. What began as a Fat Tuesday party on March 4, 2003, in Portland, Oregon has over the last 8 years become one of the nation’s best live touring acts, and thanks to word-of-mouth will soon be graduating from “best kept secret” to a band on the brink of exploding in popularity. For more on the band or to hear their music, visit www.marchfourthmarchingband.com.
Grouplove will take to the same downtown Aspen stage on Saturday, March 30. Their live shows sweep up the audience with an energetic blend of upbeat indie-pop, rock and folk. Their shows are kinetic and engaging. Their debut album Never Trust a Happy Song, has found critical and commercial success and brought the group’s unique sound to a legion of fans. Visit www.grouplovemusic.com for more information on the band and to hear music previews.
“We love continuing the Spring Jam tradition of showcasing high-energy musical acts in Aspen/Snowmass,” said John Rigney, Vice President, Sales & Events, Aspen Skiing Company. “Mix snow, sunshine, great skiing and riding into the Spring Jam party, and we have the biggest spring celebration in the Rockies.”
The 13th annual Bud Light Spring Jam, the premier spring festival in the Rocky Mountains, will bring two weekends of competitions, downtown concerts and parties to Aspen/Snowmass. The festival kicks off March 21, with the NASTAR National Championships in Snowmass. A Terrain Park Boot Camp, March 23, 24, 30 and 31, offers both adults and kids instruction on how to slide a box or hit a rail in a mini-park on Snowmass. The finish of Elk Mountain Grand Traverse and a Buttermilk Rail Jam will take place on March 30 and 31 respectively to go with the two night Core Party during the second weekend of Bud Light Spring Jam. Bud Light Big Air Fridays will take place on March 22 & 29 to round out the action packed weekends.
