Bleiler's challenge
In advance of Earth Day, Olympic snowboarder Gretchen Bleiler is hyping up her 21 Day Reusable Challenge campaign with a new video.
Bleiler teamed up with Aspen City Councilman Torre over the weekend to shoot the public service announcement.
The video was produced by Spencer McKnight's Aspen Video Productions.
The challenge is for us, the public at large, to go 21 days without using disposable plastic water bottles, plastic bags, or styrofoam from take-out restaurants.
Of course, 21 days is just a start.
They are inviting schools, governments, businesses and individuals to undertake the effort, "not just for 21 days, but to start there and make it a life-time habit," said Torre, who has been seeking council-backed legislative action, as well as cooperative community programs to lessen the use of both single-use plastic grocery bags and water bottles
