Rockies ads for 2011 don't disappoint
The Colorado Rockies aren't just talented baseball players. They display some acting chops too.
Each season the team rolls out a series of commercials that are clever and comical. There has been the spoof on Matt Holliday's infamous did-he-or-didn't-he chin-scraping slide across home plate a few years back, Ryan Spilborghs' staring contest with Dinger, former closer Brian Fuentes saving a cat from a tree and many other hard-to-forget ads that have left fans' bellies aching.
This year is no different.
Spring training has only just begun but Real Aspen already has tracked down a half dozen of the team's 32-second promotional skits that will soon be gracing your TV sets.
One of the funniest, however, doesn't feature any Colorado players at all. Instead it explains how every time a fan's wife gets pregnant, the Rockies make the playoffs:
Then there's this gem about shortstop Troy Tulowitzki's difficulties getting through airport security:
This one features a Rockies crew lecturing an overzealous fan for starting the wave at the wrong moment of a game:
Superstitions running rampant in the clubhouse:
Ubaldo Jiminez's nasty stuff:
There are dinner dates and then there are Dinger dates:
Enjoy these videos. The season officially gets under way April 1. No fooling.
